8 Questions with a Corporate Training CEO
Posted: September 30, 2014
Why is the word “innovation” in the company name?
Innovation should be top of mind for everyone who works with us in every role on every project. What better way than to put it in our name?
Tell us about the ttcInnovations contracting model.
Our clients value our ability to quickly scale and meet their needs. With a pool of highly talented and experienced contractors, it’s easy and efficient to do so. We also recently added a staff augmentation model to meet client needs.
How do you maintain quality and inspire others with the rapid growth ttcInnovations has enjoyed?
With the completion of our very first project, we knew we had something special, so we focused on creating tools, processes, and practices to ensure quality. Each project we complete adds to our strength as a team going forward.
I stay in touch with our contractors. They know that we (and our clients) have high expectations for their work. They also know how proud I am of them. I’m tuned into the industry and encourage my ttcInnovations colleagues to do the same. My hope is that I model for them a dedication to our profession and demonstrate my appreciation for their contributions on behalf of our clients.
Rapid growth, however, is both a blessing and a curse. We definitely had some lessons to learn — some the hard way. But I can’t wait to see where we will be in the next five, 10 and even 20 years! I love the ever-closer connection between learning and obtaining real business results. I’m also excited (and a little intimidated) by the possibilities offered by technology for truly enhancing performance. New trends will definitely keep us all on our toes.
Why do your contractors say it’s fun to work with ttcInnovations?
Fun is important! I think it’s because we encourage them to do what they do best however that works for them.
How has leading ttcInnovations impacted you and your family?
Growing a business while raising children is not for the faint at heart! I’ve realized my dreams because my family has been so supportive. With lots of adjustments, we found solutions that worked for us. My husband actually retired early to take on more of a family leadership role. Surrounded by so much talent, no more “all-nighters” for me, though.
What would you be doing if you weren’t leading ttcInnovations?
I’d be writing the great American novel. Really, seriously, someday I’ll write mystery books. But, today I’m having too much fun doing what I’m doing!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to spend time with my family and run competitively. Beating my personal best time gives me a sense of accomplishment. It gives me a chance to let my mind wander — my most creative time of the day!
And finally, what is your favorite non-work app on your computer?
Facebook — I enjoy staying connected.
